Community
We see team sports as a container for developing essential tools for being in community with others, such as teamwork, personal growth, interpersonal communication, peer-to-peer feedback, accountability, and discipline. Our athletes are committed to supporting the NY ultimate frisbee community at every level by participating as coaches, captains, league players, organizers, and volunteers.
Equity
We believe that mixed sports provide a unique opportunity to develop mutual respect and understanding across differing identities. We regularly facilitate internal discussions about how gender and racial dynamics show up in sports. We strive to uplift our women, gender-expansive, BIPOC, neurodivergent, and lower-income players. Our mission is to build a sustainable community centered around social justice. Our team is committed to educating ourselves on local social causes and finding ways to get involved.
Growth
By focusing on a community-first environment that encourages and celebrates individual and team growth, we went from failing to qualify for the 2017 U.S. National Championships to placing 3rd in the country in 2022 and 2023.
